DEMONTERING AV HERCULESPLAN PÅ AEROSEUM

Aeroseum Pressrelease 22-07-06 Sent på kvällen den 6e juli ankommer två land- och sjötransporterade Herculesplan till Aeroseum från Cambridge i Storbritannien. De två flygplanen med benämning TP 84 Hercules 841 och 843 har under en tid används som ”reservdelsplan” men kommer nu, på uppdrag av Försvarsmakten, att plockas isär och delvis skrotas. Det kommer att ges möjlighet att följa demonteringen på plats på Aeroseum. Hercules 841 som var i Försvarsmaktens tjänst i nästan 50 år (avvecklades 2014), kommer att plockas isär och ”framkroppen” ska bevaras och visas på Flygvapenmuseet i Linköping. Aeroseum kommer att undersöka möjligheten att ta tillvara delar av Hercules 843 för allmän visning. Sedan en månads tid har Försvarsmakten arbetat med markberedning för att ta emot flygplanen vid Aeroseum, bergshangaren på Säve. De som möter transporten, på dess väg från hamnen, kommer att få ge plats åt dessa omfångsrika flygplan. Vingarna samt stjärtfena har demonterats och transporteras separat. Ytan som iordningställts utanför Aeroseum är 5700 kvm. Under torsdagen, den 7e juli, kommer flygplanskropparna lyftas på plats och området inhägnas. Hercules är ett militärt transportflygplan som flugit för Sveriges försvarsmakt sedan mitten av 1960-talet. Försvarsmakten har sex stycken TP 84 i tjänst och de är stationerade på F7, Skaraborgs flygflottilj i Såtenäs. Flygplanen kan lasta knappt 20 ton eller 91 passagerare. De har även används till bistånds- och  hjälpinsatser samt i internationella säkerhetsstyrkan Isaf på uppdrag i Afghanistan. Flygplanstypens officiella namn är Lockheed Martin C-130. Disassembling a Hercules plane at Aeroseum

Late at night on the 6^th of July two Hercules aeroplanes will arrive from Cambridge, Great Britain, transported by land and sea. The two planes with designation TP 84 Hercules 841 and 843 will be disassembled and partly scrapped by order of the Swedish Armed Forces. You will be given the opportunity to follow the disassembling (on location) at Aeroseum. Hercules 841 has been in service of the Swedish Armed Forces for almost 50 years (was decommissioned 2014) will be disassembled and the frontal body will be preserved and displayed at the Swedish Air Force Museum in Linköping. Aeroseum will investigate the possibility to preserve parts of Hercules 843 for public viewing. 5700 square meters of ground has been prepared by the Swedish Armed Forces to be able to receive the aeroplanes in the mountain hangar at Aeroseum, Säve. The planes, if you meet them on their way from the harbour, are voluminous, the wings and tail has to be transported separately. On Thursday the 7^th of July, the plane bodies will be put in place and the area will be enclosed. Hercules is a military transport plane that has been used by the Swedish Armed Forces since the 1960s. The army has six TP 84 in active service stationed at F7 Skaraborgs Air Force, Såtenäs. The aeroplanes can carry a load of almost 20 tonnes, which is equivalent of 91 passengers. They have been used during aid and relief efforts as well as by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
